What is the most common age KD is diagnosed at?
- 80-90% of Kawasaki Disease cases occur in children younger than the age of 5 and older than 6 months
- It can occur in adults and children older than 5 but is very rare

- As of now, the cause of KD is unknown but doctors and researchers suspect that KD is caused from an immunological reaction to an environmental trigger in genetically susceptible children.
- KD is more common in boys than girls and in children from asian descent
